Keynote at the Launch of the launch of the Social Investment Laboratory
Lisbon, Portugal – February 27, 2014
The Social Investment Lab is a social venture funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation on a 3 year grant and launched with a distinguished audience. It aims to be a knowledge center for social investment in Portugal and lusophone countries, enabling the creation of a nascent social investment market. Following welcoming words from Artur Santos Silva, President of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and Carlos Moedas, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister, Bernard Horn, Chairman of Social Finance UK, gave a keynote on “The global social investment market”. Dr. Maximilian Martin gave a keynote on “Making Impact Investible in Portugal”, coinciding with the launch of the Portuguese version of the paper “Making Impact Investible” and then joined a panel with Jane Newman, International Director of Social Finance UK.
